JRC received the roofing contract for a Pioneer Frozen Foods, a food manufacturer in Prosperity, SC. Founded in 1982, Pioneer Frozen Foods is based in Duncanville, Texas and operates as a subsidiary of C.H. Guenther & Son, Inc. For this project, JRC was contacted after the food manufacturer experienced a workplace incident that damaged the property’s roof and corner exterior. With the damage spanning across 42,871 sf across the manufacturing facility, JRC’s Scope of work focused on providing a full flat roof replacement using V2T vent technology.

To start the project, JRC began by removing the existing roof system free of debris before loose laying the DensDeck over the existing roof area. The DensDeck is gypsum based underlayment provides water resistance, fire resistance, moisture resistance and wind uplift properties. After the necessary DensDeck is applied, JRC installed 460 SQS of Carlisle Sure Weld 60 mil. White TPO using V2T Technology. V2T Roof Systems use the power of the wind to hold the roof securely in place. The technology behind the vent is based on a recognized physics principal to create a vacuum that becomes stronger as the speed of wind increases. The vacuum pulls the air from under the membrane – drawing it down to the deck and holding the membrane firmly in place. Destructive uplift pressures are counteracted by a greater vacuum force created by the vent. JRC installed 30 v2T vents manufactured from a rigid plastic material that is strong enough to resist excessive wind speeds, yet lightweight.
