University of North Carolina Wilmington Campus
JRC received the roofing contract for the University of North Carolina – Wilmington Campus: Cameron Hall, Leutze Hall and Cornerstone Hall. Located on the Atlantic coast, the Wilmington area is a family oriented, progressive and fast growing community with a diversity of business, sports and cultural activities. After the Hurricane Florence, a category 4 hurricane, hit the coast of North Carolina, the University of North Carolina in Wilmington sustained damaged to three of their large scale residence halls: Cameron, Leutze and Cornerstone Hall.
For both Cameron and Leutze Hall Building, JRC’s scope of work focused on removing the damaged roof system down to the decking and installing a brand new GAF shingle roof system. JRC installed 400+ sqs of GAF Timberline HD Shingles in Slate color. With GAF’s Timberline HD Shingles, the new roof system will have a thicker, ultra-dimensional wood-shake look while maintaining industry-leading wind-uplift protection, resistance fire rating and advanced stain resistance. Upgraded from a 3-tab shingle, the GAF Timberline HD Shingles that offers a 3-Dimensional curb appeal to the property while also providing a 30 year warranty, quite an upgrade from 3-tab’s 10-15 year warranty.
