JRC was awarded the roof contract for a senior living community, JEA Hudson Creek in Bryan, TX. As a luxury senior living community is a dedicated Alzheimer's Special Care Center that provides several different services, including Memory Care and Respite Care. For this project, JRC focused on removing and replacing the shingle roof system for the 127,152 sf care facility.
The JRC Production Team started by removing the existing shingle roof system and inspecting the existing decking to ensure its prepped for the new roof system. After installing new new aluminum W valley metal in all the valleys, JRC installed new synthetic underlayment, and layer of ice and water shield to protect against the elements. Spanning 127,152 sf, JRC installed 425+ sqs of Atlas ProLam 30yr. Dimensional Shingles in their popular Weathered Wood Color. Atlas ProLam 30yr. Dimensional Shingles are laminated, architectural shingles that feature oversized shingle dimensions, distinct shadow lines and random cuts that create the texture and charm of a multi-layered wood shake shingle.
JRC also installed brand new Lomanco 2000 power vents that include an adjustable thermostat and humidistat and will ultimately extend the life of new shingle roof system, insulation, and other building components by exhausting damaging heat and moisture from attic space. There were 22 new pipe boots that were installed.
