JRC was awarded the Roofing Contract for the La Quinta Inn and Suites in Fort Myers, Florida. The popular hotel chain was recently acquired by the world’s largest hotel company, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts for approximately for $1.95 billion. With the acquisition of La Quinta’s asset-light, fee-for-service business consisting of nearly 900 managed and franchised hotels, Wyndham Hotel Group will span 21 brands and over 9,000 hotels across more than 75 countries.
After sustaining 142 mph wind gusts and heavy rainfall from Category 5 Hurricane Irma, JRC Surveyor / Pilots quickly arrived on site to assess the property damage. JRC Surveyors also worked closely with insurance adjusters, Anderson Group handling La Quinta's commercial property insurance claim. With over $100,000 in damages to the 44,863 sf hotel, JRC began by removing the existing damaged tile roof and flat roofs down to the wood deck. Once inspected, JRC mechanically attached 430 SQS Carlisle White TPO and installed 56 SQS of PAC-Clad Standing Seam Metal for this mixed sloped roof system. Walkways were installed along all of the rooftop access points and around service equipment to further protect the roof membrane when the equipment is serviced.
The PAC-Clad standing seam metal roofing panels combines semi-structural metal panel performance with architectural roofing panel aesthetics. PAC-Clad standing seam metal roof system was selected for its superior panel flatness and maximum design flexibility. Additionally, by installing Carlisle Sure Weld 60 mil. white TPO along the flat roof portions of the hotel, the white colored TPO will drastically affect the building's energy efficiency by reflecting the Florida sun's rays and minimizing the impact on the HVAC systems.
