low cost and low maintenance

Thermoplastic Polyoefin or TPO is single-ply membrane that most commonly found on commercial and industrial buildings. One of the more popular options for our low slope division, TPO is versatile, water tight, and long lasting.

Energy Efficient

TPO membranes are highly popular due to their energy efficiency. The default white reflective surface of the membrane is Energy Star Certified. Having a TPO Roof on your building will keep the interior comfortable on hot summer days while reducing your energy costs.

Easy Installation

Manufactured with wider sheets and are lightweight, therefore the material is easier to install and there are fewer seams. Less work and time associated with the installation translates into direct savings for you.

Durability

TPO is resistant to mold growth, dirt accumulation, tears, and punctures. Reinforced TPO  can handle a building’s thermal expansion and contraction more effectively than other single-ply roofing products.

TPO has a cost-effective and durable multi-layered design that ensures water tightness. The layers include:

  • Base: The bottom layer, made of plywood or sheet metal, provides a solid foundation for the roofing system and serves as an attachment point for insulation.
  • Insulation: The thickness of the insulation varies based on factors such as location and climate, ranging from 0.5 inches to several inches.
  • Roof Board (optional): Sometimes, a roof board is used to add an extra protective layer and increase the roof’s strength. It is fastened to the insulation.
  • TPO Membrane: The final layer is the TPO membrane, which is attached with either high-quality bonding adhesive or screws on one side of the membrane sheet. The number of fasteners or amount of adhesive used depends on building height, wind conditions, and location.
  • Seam Welding: After the membrane is laid, seams are heat-welded together using a machine to create a water-tight seal.
